Rangers sign Guerrero
The Texas Rangers have signed free agent outfielder Vladamir Guerrero to a one-year contract worth $6.5 million.
The team is hopeful that they can get a great year out of Guerrero, who will be playing for another contract.
There is also a mutual option for the 2011 season that can be exercised should things work out for both sides.
It’s unlikely that Guerrero will be anything but a designated hitter with the Rangers, but he certainly adds some pop to the lineup.
Guerrero is excited about the possibility of hitting in a ballpark where he has had a lot of success in the past.
