Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton’s ribs are still bruised and causing too much pain for him to rejoin the lineup.
Hamilton crashed into the outfield wall trying to make a catch, causing him to injure his ribs.
The only way to treat the injury is to ice them and rest, which is what he has been doing since running into the wall.
He has been the team’s top hitter and run producer, but fortunately they have a comfortable lead in the American League West. ( Read More…)

The Texas Rangers plan to give pitcher Cliff Lee more rest in between starts in the final month of the season. Lee has really struggled of late for the Rangers, going 0-3 with a 9.33 ERA in his past three outings.
While Lee doesn’t feel as though he is tired and needs additional rest, it’s a luxury the Rangers can afford. The team holds a very comfortable lead over the floundering Los Angeles Angels in the American League West.
They will need the ace of their staff to actually pitch like it when the playoffs roll around in October.
